The 5/6 classroom is a place for students to be themselves, and bring their unique personalities into a team environment where they grow as learners, friends, peers and people.
Students engage in differentiated learning programs, including open-ended learning tasks combined with explicit teaching across all subjects. All learning in our class is underpinned by the habits and dispositions of How2Learn.
Our focus in 5/6 is on supporting the growing independence of our Stage 3 students, and developing the capacity of our school leaders.
Our Year 6 students lead the way as School and Vice captains, as well as leading Events, Technology, Arts, Music, Wellbeing, Environment and Health, taking on projects and initiatives across the school.
Our Year 5 students are buddies to our Kindergarten students, helping them to adapt to school life.
All students in years 5 and 6 are also actively engaged in our peer mediation program.
In our classroom, we are guided by our school values of KINDNESS, RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY.
