Welcome to Gundaroo Public School's website, I hope you find it full of information about our school and what makes it a thriving community hub. Our school motto working together encapsulates our goal to work with our community to provide the best educational outcomes for the students in our care. We feel privileged that our community entrust us with supporting their children through this stage of their education and value the parents role as a child's first teacher.
We are a small school with high educational expectations and endeavour to provide a holistic education for the students in our care. Our priority areas are strong literacy and numeracy teaching, effective and evidence-based classroom practice, wellbeing and sustainability. Adventure, imagination and curiosity is fostered in learning experiences, and our vast school grounds provide the perfect space for these qualities to thrive. Our learning spaces are not limited to four walls. Flexible learning environments mean every space in our school is a learning space. Students learn in the vegetable garden, the bushes, under the shade of the trees and in the outdoor classrooms we are continuing to establish alongside their learning in their classrooms, all of which are set up by their dedicated and creative teachers.
With almost 160 years of history and tradition behind us, we are committed to maintaining what is amazing about our school, and respecting the many traditions established, while embracing and accepting the challenges and innovations of today and the future to provide the best educational experiences for the students in our care.
We have a passionate and courageous staff who promote a culture of excellence where every child matters every day. Students are challenged to develop the skills and personal qualities needed to succeed and the ability to be lifelong learners with a passion for learning. In our school teachers demonstrate personal responsibility for improving their teaching practice to improve student learning, recognising themselves as lifelong learners.
We feel incredibly privileged to be a part of this story and continually seek and respond to feedback to continue to improve. As a member of the Gundaroo community, we invite you to join us on this journey and see for yourself what Gundaroo Public School has to offer. Please contact us for a tour, we are always keen to share our school as we are so proud of what we have to offer your child and our current students.
